I've been working on a bracelet to trade with another beader. While I know her wrist size, I decided make a chain charm bracelet, because this gives her some flexibility in how tight/loose she would like to wear it. Since she doesn't wear silver, I went through the copper chain in my stash. I felt like Goldilocks trying to find the perfect charm bracelet chain:
This chain is TOO BIG. It'd make a great necklace, but the large chain won't lie flat and I'd have to add multiple charms on each link to fill up the space. If I did that, then the charms would get unattractively jumbled.
This chain is TOO SMALL. I could probably find thin jump rings to fit into the links of the chain. The problem would be the clasp. Part of the reason I wanted to use chain is that it allows the wearer to use any link of chain to close the clasp. A comfortably-sized lobster clasp would be too large to fit through those small chain links. (Again, this chain would be perfect for a necklace!)
This chain is JUST RIGHT. The links are big enough that they could be used to close the bracelet with a lobster clasp. The two sizes of twisted links adds visual interest. The chain is very pretty on its own, but not so distracting that you won't notice the charms. |

Once I found the chain, I quickly finished up the bracelet. I'll post photos here after she receives the bracelet in the mail. I want to keep it a surprise until then!
