I've been working on the Pinterest boards for Northern Colorado Writers (NCW). One board lists all the books that NCW members have published including children's books, memoirs, mysteries, science fiction, and other genres. (If you're an NCW member with a published book, let me know if I need to add it. I'm adding books every day.)
Next I'll work on the list of all the books by former and current instructors and annual conference presenters. That's quite diverse, too. Here's a sample:
- How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack by Chuck Sambuchino
A humor book with essential tips on how to deal with this pesky creature. - The Ledge by Jim Davidson and Kevin Vaughan
A heart-stopping memoir of what happened when the author fell into a deep crevasse while climbing. I heard the author speak at a conference and at one point it seemed like the entire audience stopped breathing. (Or maybe that was just me.) - The Queen of Water by Laura Resau
A coming-of-age young adult novel about a young girl in Ecuador sold by her parents to be a servant to a wealthy family. Based on a true story. - How the West Was Drawn: Women's Art by Linda Osmundson
A children's picture book (part of a series) that explores women in western art beyond the familiar Georgia O'Keeffe. - Deadly Row to Hoe by Cricket McRae
Part of the Home Crafting Mystery series. Each one explores a different craft such as soap making, spinning, or making preserves. This one takes place at an organic farm.
Working on this project made me realize that I could read books just from these two lists for years. What's the best book you've read lately?
