I missed out on snow days as a child, so as an adult, I'm especially appreciative whenever I'm snowed in. I'm not out building snow forts or sledding like the neighborhood kids. Instead, I'm taking time to enjoy the small pleasures that a snow day brings: a second cup of tea, an adventurous hike down to the mailbox, a brief chat with the neighbor as you both try to clear the driveways and sidewalks. Snow days force us to slow down and appreciate life—something that doesn't always happen during planned vacations.
