One of my favorite charities is The Libri Foundation which donates new children's books to rural libraries in the United States. Public libraries tend to see more visitors, but receive less funding, when times are tough.
What I really like about The Libri Foundation is their Amazon Wish List. (If the link doesn't work, you can click on "Gifts & Wish Lists" at the top and search for the foundation name.) I don't understand why more charities don't do this. Yes, I understand that it's great to receive checks that you can spend however you wish. But I also know that it's a lot of fun to go shopping—a lot more fun than writing a check!
They change the titles regularly, so it's always fun to browse the list and see what's new. There's a range of prices, age levels, and nonfiction/fiction books. I find to hard to resist titles like Grumpy Cat or Sheep in a Jeep.
What are some of your favorite book titles or charities?
