I had an email from the dynamic writer and designer Jean Yates, saying she'd given me the Superior Scribbler Award. Isn't that sweet?
The award is a good reminder to recommend some of the blogs I read regularly. This is just a sample, not a complete list.
Here's my list of five blogs I read regularly:
- C. Hope Clark: C. Hope Clark writes the wonderful free newsletter, FundsforWriters, which also includes her thoughtful editorials. Her blog includes even more places to get published.
- Diary of a Crafty Chica: Kathy Cano-Murillo always has something fun going on, whether it's a giveaway, a how-to video, or a funny story about her last trip to Michael's.
- Katie's Beading Blog: Katie Hacker is a beading and jewelry-making rock star. Really. Her blog is one of the first beading blogs I ever read and she was one of my inspirations getting started in jewelry making. Lots of eye-candy for jewelry designers.
- The Renegade Writer: Sensible, time-tested advice for writers who don't follow the rules.*
- Yarn Harlot: I like Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's wise and funny blog so much that I've already written an entire future post about it. Stay tuned.
* Like me. If you're interested, read the story behind the Superior Scribbler Award, plus all the official rules (which I followed in spirit, not to the letter), and a list of people who have been previously nominated.
