Welcome to the Very Vintage Challenge Blog Hop! Everyone on this list bought either a full-size or "mini" version of the same kit with Vintaj brass materials and vintage Lucite and glass. You can read more about the challenge rules in my earlier post.
Update October 8, 2011: Inspired by the designs you've seen? Want to try your hand at making a fall-related design? I've made three limited edition "grab bag" kits with some of the challenge materials and some new items. When they're sold, I won't be making any more!
My Challenge Project
I didn't have a formal kit; I used some of the leftover materials such as the Vintaj branch, the smokey glass round, and assorted Lucite leaves. From my stash I added a Czech glass heart (above the sign) and a tiny bronze glass round.
To create this pin, I drilled holes in the branch to hang jump rings and simple wire loops. I originally planned to place the pin back finding directly on the branch, but found that the branch was too narrow. So I cut and hammered a long piece of copper to use as a backing. To attach the branch to the copper, I drilled a few holes. I originally used wire to attach the two pieces, but decided that I liked the rougher look of the knotted round leather cord instead. I attached the pin back with epoxy.
I attached the leaves with simple jump rings and stamped "Fall 4 Fall" on the Vintaj scroll metal blank.
I planned to add some other leaves either using fabric or seed beads, but ran out of time. I think the pin does need a bit more texture before I'll be happy with it, so consider this a work-in-progress!

Giveaway Coming This Friday
I'll be giving away a brand new beading or jewelry book this Friday. Which one? I haven't decided. I have a lot of great review copies to choose from, so I'll be busy reading between now and then. See you soon!
