No matter how much I plan for my holiday gift-giving, I always seem to make a few gifts at the last minute. I don't mind—unless I can't make up my mind! Take these earrings for example:
I loved these dichroic glass circles that I bought at a show from Sonoran Beads. They seemed perfect for sophisticated New Year's earrings.
At first, I just added silver jump rings and silver ear wires. Too plain. | |

Then I added a wire-wrapped loop with royal blue faceted glass rondelle.
Neither the shape nor size of the bead fit with the rest of the earring. Plus, the blue was just a little too bright. |
I decided that what I needed to balance the large dichroic circle was a large, round crystal to match. Of course, I had nothing like that in my stash and no time to shop.
Instead, I chose a teal coin pearl that was the right shape and size. Plus, the extra length gave the earrings a little more movement. |
I should have wrapped up the earrings immediately, but I hesitated and now I'm in danger of changing my mind once again. (Christmas is in three days—what's the rush, right?)
