This year I'm creating several free online tutorials for B'Sue Boutiques. I'll be alternating months with the very talented Erin Prais-Hintz who will be designing projects using art beads.
All my tutorials will be easy jewelry projects that don't take a lot of time. Each one will use a limited number of techniques, so you can concentrate on mastering a few new skills at a time, rather than 27 different things at once. You can follow along with the step-by-step photos to make the exact project or use the ideas as inspiration to come up with your own special twist.
The first tutorial shows two earring projects that use bead caps in an unusual way. I love bead caps, but was feeling a little bored using them the same way every time. I challenged myself to come up with some new ideas. For one of the projects, I use my metal hole-punch pliers in a decorative manner; the other uses flat-nose pliers to transform a bead cap into a different shape.
If you have suggestions for techniques or themes for future tutorials, I'd love to hear them. In the meantime, I'm busy cooking up another "easy peasy" tutorial—look for a bracelet or necklace project in April!
