I do a lot of beading and other crafting in the evenings and on weekends. During the day, I try to take at least one brief art break and look at some inspiring websites, take a walk (I get lots of ideas while walking), or do something else that doesn't take much time, but still recharges my creative batteries. Here are a few fun websites I've found recently. I love how these artists transform ordinary materials into something extraordinary.
- Crayon Sculptures
If you thought crayons were just for kids who like to color, these sculptures by Herb Williams will change your mind. - One Piece of Paper
Remember cutting out paper snowflakes or paper dolls? Peter Callesen creates skeletons, castles, and other amazing works of art. - Dollar Bill Origami
I knew someone in high school who could fold a dollar bill into the shape of a shirt. Won Park goes far beyond that, turning dollar bills into fish, butterflies, and space ships. - Knitted Ferrari
If you haven't seen Lauren Porter's knitted car or her more recent fabric hunting trophies, you should take a look. - Beer Can Butterflies
I normally cringe when I hear the words "beer can art," but these butterflies by Paul Villinksi are absolutely gorgeous!
If you have suggestions for inspiring websites, I'd love to hear them!
