We've had snow for a couple of days two weeks in a row here in Colorado. Yes, it's late April. And no, it's not that unusual. Some years we get snow as late as May.
For those of you lucky enough to be enjoying sunshine and warmer weather, I wanted to share one of the wrapped cord bracelets I made recently.
This bangle bracelet has a channel in it that it perfect for filling with cord. You can simply wrap the cotton cord around the bangle several times and knot it tightly. Or you can do as I did and first insert some heavy-duty double-sided scrapbooking tape into the channel to permanently adhere the cord to the bangle. (I really like Terrifically Tacky Tape if you can find it.) Yes, you could glue it, but this way is much less messy and doesn't emit toxic fumes.
The square silver slider was fairly plain, so I wirewrapped some tiny purple round stones to the center for some additional color. The slider itself is attached to the bangle with knots in the cord. I wanted to make sure that the parts of the bangle that might hit your wrist felt soft.
You can find the tutorial on the Michaels website, along with a couple of other color combinations. Here's hoping that spring is just around the corner!
