Father's Day (June 19, 2016) is just over two weeks away!
The key to picking out just the right Father's Day gift is figuring out what kind of dad you have. I've had fun imagining what your dads might be like and creating some gifts for him this spring. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
For the dad who loves ...
Aviation
- Compass Cards
These cards are embossed on heavy paper in your choice of ivory or white.
Being a new dad (and/or one who breaks things!)
- Dad Est [Date]
This is a steel keychain with all steel parts. It's thin, but strong. The large hole is well away from the edge, so it won't easily wear away or break as softer metals might. It can be customized with a different year.
Comic books and superheroes
- Hero Dad
This keychain combines copper and aluminum. This is one of the few keychains I make that can be stamped on both sides. (The hammering technique using in hand stamping often does not make for good two-sided pieces.) Add a name and/or date on the back to make it a one-of-a-kind gift. - Super Dad
This keychain is aluminum with a copper lightning bolt, so it's very lightweight. It's also the largest size keychain I make.
Engineering and math
- Gear Keychain
It's two sided with a different stack of gears on each side. - Pi Ring
I can make this ring any size you need.
Golf
- Custom Golf Ball Markers
I admit I don't know a lot about golf, so I didn't even know these existed until earlier this year when I made a couple for a customer. Each one was personalized with an initial. This is not something I normally carry, but I'm happy to make them upon request. Just ask!
Reading
- Small Bookmark
This can be personalized with a first name or a word such as dad or papa. - Stamped Copper Bookmarks
I make many different kinds of long copper bookmarks, including ones that are monogrammed, ones with quotes about fatherhood, or customized ones.
Writing
- Alphabet Cards
These embossed cards show a simple alphabet pattern that looks like it was created by an old typewriter. Perfect for writing notes to agents and editors!
Good luck with your shopping!
