Last week I received an acceptance letter for an essay I submitted to an anthology last year. I had honestly forgotten about it, so the email was a nice surprise. I'll post more details once the book is out.
I find that my creative life runs a lot more smoothly when I keep moving forward onto new projects, rather than obsessing about work that's already done. That's not to say I never revise or continue work on projects, but once I've decided it's finished and I submit it to a publisher, I try not to think about it again. Worrying about it won't change the outcome and just wastes a lot of energy.
