I don't like the cold and it's been freezing here in Colorado
lately. As I write this, I'm wearing a handmade knit cap and two
sweaters. I keep running to the kitchen to make cup after cup of hot
tea. (Being so close to the kitchen is both a blessing and a curse of
working at home.) I've even succumbed to <gasp!> periodic bouts
Given this, I've been puzzling how to explain why I love making winter
themed jewelry: white beads, wintry animals (like snow owls),
snowflake charms . . . I have my porcelain pendants and charms from the
Snowflake Challenge on my worktable and I keep sketching new designs for them. (By the way, Chinook Jewelry has more of these handmade beads if you want to play in January blog hop.)
I'm
finding it very challenging to come up with designs for summer
publications which must be submitted now. I keep brushing aside the sweet flower beads and
brighter colors that should be capturing my attention. Instead, I'm reaching for white, lacy beads like these pictured here, frosted recycled glass, and bits of silver and gunmetal . . .
