A friend shared this with me on Facebook and I thought it was too good not to share with you.
World Book Night is looking for 50,000 U.S. volunteers to distribute books to people who rarely or never read. The project debuted in the U.K. in 2011; this is its first year in the U.S. This year, the project aims to give away 1 million books total in the U.S. and U.K.
If you participate as a "giver," you get to choose your favorite book from a list and pick up 20 copies to give away on April 23, 2012. There's a great mix of 30 titles, including some that I've read: The Glass Castle, The Kite Runner, Q is for Quarry, The Lovely Bones, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. I've read most of the other authors, though I haven't read the exact titles listed. I've been looking for some new books to read and I think this list is a great starting place!
Whether you participate or not, I'd love to know which of the 30 titles you'd choose to give away.
