The year's a little more than half over. How are those New Year's Resolutions or 2011 goals coming? Or did you choose a word to focus on this year? It's not too late to start fresh with some new goals or rethink your focus. If you need some inspiration, I enjoyed this old post by Your Homebased Mom about her word of the year. There are some great ideas for words in the comments, too. (My word, in case you're wondering, is "brave.")
I recently looked at my goals for this year and was a little dismayed that I hadn't done much towards them, especially the writing goals. So I'm trying to get back on track. At the same time, I realize that I'm doing some projects (such as editing a book) that weren't on my list of goals, but are things I always wanted to do. So don't feel bad if you're in the same situation—you can't predict what challenges or opportunities life is going to bring you in any given year.
I love the word pillows from Your Homebased Mom because I think it's great to see those words the first thing in the morning and last thing at night. But I also love the idea of jewelry that reflects your "focus" word or that just makes people laugh. It's nice to have a portable source of inspiration that you wear all day. I set up a "Say Anything" Etsy treasury to share some beads, pendants, and jewelry with words. Enjoy!
P.S. I'm working on setting up my own Etsy shop. It's one of my goals this year to offer more of my jewelry (and some beads and kits) online. I'll let you know as soon as it's ready!
