As some of you know, I joined a CSA (Community Sponsored Agriculture) program this year. Each week, I get a bag (or bags) of fresh produce. This past week I received a bag of pears. I've never been a huge fan of pears, but these are small, sweet, and delicious. I have never tasted any pears as good as these. Seriously. If you were here, I'd be pressuring you to take a bite of this pear right this second.
The pears are also—like much of the CSA produce—a bit banged up. They have an occasional bruise or scratch or an odd, lumpy shape. Seeing them reminds me that I've been beating myself up lately: Why isn't my work better? Why can't I work faster/better/smarter? Or the worst: Why can't I be more like ________?
