B'Sue Boutiques is having a December challenge for "Easy Peasy" earrings, the kind you can make in 15-20 minutes. Brenda Sue will be drawing a name at random and awarding a $25 gift certificate. Who wouldn't want a prize like that? You can read about the challenge rules on the group's Flckr site.
My "Tea for Two" earring entry is pictured here. I was originally inspired by a friend of mine who has visited many tea places with me, although as I worked on these, I remembered a famous literary tea party: the one in Alice in Wonderland!
To create these earrings, I used brass charms from B'Sue, which I've painted with metal paints and then sealed. I hammered the copper discs and added little copper rounds and red Czech glass flowers leftover from my glass flower bead phase of 2006! The brass ear wires are from Vintaj.
P.S. A confession: The above paragraphs are the kind of proper description I might write for a magazine. Here's the real behind-the-scenes scoop: those materials (with the exception of the red glass beads) were already on my very messy worktable! Rather than put stuff away, I've started to see what I could make with it. You should try it—it's definitely a fun twist on this challenge!
