Do you know that saying "be careful what you wish for"? I wanted to write more in 2014. And boy, have I! Here's my latest links to the blog posts I've been writing in the last month or so:
- Creative Beaded Jewelry
A book review for Halcraft USA on a beginner-friendly book with Asian-inspired designs. I made a free necklace pattern inspired by the book with gemstones, ceramic beads, and metallic leather cord. (I've been rather obsessed with that cord from Michaels lately.) - Necklaceology
A book review for Halcraft USA on a book showing how to make lariats, chokers, and other types of necklaces by Candie Cooper. - Tips from a 30-Day Bead Challenge Veteran
A post for Inside Beadwork Magazine about the annual March challenge sponsored by Fusion Beads. You can do something jewelry-related every day for the month! - Hearts: A 2014 Spring Fashion Trend
A post for Inside Stringing Magazine about using hearts in jewelry. Hearts are not just for Valentine's Day and they don't have to be just pink or red. - How to Tackle the Tassel Trend
A post for Inside Beadwork Magazine about ideas for making tassel jewelry. This trend started about two years ago and is still going strong.
- Repurpose Your Old Jewelry This Spring
A post for Inside Stringing Magazine about taking apart your old jewelry and turning it into something new. I talked to the founder of the Do Over Challenge for this piece. - Flowers in Native North American Beadwork Exhibit
I wrote about an exhibit in a Los Angeles museum and shared a few photos of some of the pieces for Inside Beadwork Magazine.
I'm happy with all the writing I've been doing, but I'm feeling a little tired today. I know I won't be this busy forever (my blogging for Stringing and Beadwork will end in April), so I'm trying to appreciate it. At the same time, I'm reassuring myself that I will be able to get caught up on my sleep ... eventually!
Happy Pancake Tuesday!
