Isn't this mini Christmas tree the cutest thing ever?
I've mentioned before that I sometimes have to work ahead for the holidays. I made this tree back in May and I've been practically bursting trying to keep it a secret until now.
The tree itself is one of the miniature bottlebrush trees sold by Tim Holtz's Idea-ology line. There are at least two assortments of trees available, the "tree lot" with a set of 5 identical trees and the "woodlands" which comes with 2 different trees and a wreath. This 5-inch tree is from the woodlands set.
I thought the silver filigree rounds from Bliss Beads made the prettiest ornaments and of course, I found the perfect star-shaped bead cap for the top.
Metallics have been very popular this fall, so that's why the tree is all done in tones of gold, gunmetal, and silver. You can make your own version in whatever colors you like best.
Imagine making a bunch of these trees as a festive centerpiece for your table. (Or even better yet, imagine gathering your extra beading supplies and letting family and friends make their own trees!)
